Role: Project Manager in our Bio-resources department.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday
Base Location: This role is a flexible hybrid working arrangement and will be based in the Leeds area. There will be an expectation to visit sites in the Yorkshire region there a full valid driving licence (with no more than 6 points) is an essential requirement for this role.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to assist the Bioresources Programme and Projects Manager in the delivery of AMP7 capital projects, managing a stream of projects within the Bioresources Capital programme. Working collaboratively with other business areas to deliver AMP7 Bioresources capital expenditure projects, our Bioresources Project Manager will ensure that projects of work are delivered to time, cost and quality and that project risks are managed in line with business targets, whilst ensuring health and safety, regulatory and statutory compliance is always achieved.
What will you be doing?
As our Bioresources Project Manager, you will deliver a high performing Project Management capability to ensure outputs are consistent and of excellent quality within Yorkshire Water standards and procedures. Acting on behalf of the Project Sponsor, you will have overall accountability for the delivery of individual projects, managing project scope within limits agreed with the Project Sponsor, escalating proposed changes beyond this to the Sponsor for a decision. You will also:
1. Ensure project risks are understood, reviewed regularly and escalated to the Programme Manager/Sponsor as appropriate.
2. Maintain a flexible / creative approach to the delivery of projects.
3. Can explore and recommend alternative delivery models to meet agreed outcomes within a capital constrained environment.
4. Manage time, cost, and quality throughout the project lifecycle from definition to benefits realisation phases.
5. Manage relationships and communication between all stakeholders, ensuring requirements of all parties are captured and understood, facilitating discussion and agreement between parties on scope, constraints, and approach to risk transfer in delivery.
6. Deliver programmes/projects in a timely manner, balancing operational site times and contractor availability.
7. Deal with unforeseen circumstances efficiently with the ability to problem solve and balance project needs effectively whilst maintaining planned deadlines.
8. Monitor and manage project financial targets, implementing appropriate solutions to help recover identified shortfalls.
9. Manages H&S (CDM) requirements.
10. Maintain a high level of personal technical capability for Project Management
11. Be responsible for the successful operation of the capital funding process and the resolution of any issues that arise in a timely manner.
12. Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and self-manage.
13. Attend BIC in relation to their projects should this be required as part of the Batch Approval or Change Authorisation process.
14. Drive continuous improvement to proactively identify and remove waste from team processes and activities.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Essential:
15. Qualified or working towards a qualification in Project Management discipline, APM, Prince 2, Agile
16. Extensive knowledge of the project lifecycle.
17. Proven track record of delivering Capital Projects
18. A proven track record of managing contractors and influencing performance improvements, with a good understanding of quality assurance practices.
19. Understanding of resource planning and risk management.
20. Experience of applying different delivery models based on business need.
21. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to absorb complex technical information and communicate effectively to all levels across the business.
22. Strong organisation and personal management skills.
23. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
24. Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment and make sound decisions.
25. Be an effective time manager to meet stringent timescales, with the ability to multi-task, as the role demands.
