An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy Team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacist (or soon to be registered pharmacist) to join our dedicated paediatric Pharmacy department.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality medicines optimisation service to children in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.
You will gain experience through a structured rotation programme working in Clinical Pharmacy Services on specialist medical and surgical wards as well as participating in operational Pharmacy Services.
You will be joining our friendly team to provide clinical pharmacy services at the acute site of the Trust where you will gain experience in many specialities including neurosurgery, oncology and Haematology, endocrinology, specialist orthopaedics, neonatal surgery, metabolic disease, gastroenterology, respiratory diseases, HDU, cystic fibrosis and neurology.
You will spend time working in different clinical specialities under the guidance of senior specialist pharmacists and working within a team of around 60 pharmacy staff.
You will be encouraged to undertake a Diploma in Clinical pharmacy.
After an initial training period, there is a requirement to participate in the provision of an on-call service on a rotational basis together with weekend and Bank Holiday services.

As a band 6 pharmacist you will actively participate in the full range of services provide by pharmacy. This will include providing a clinical pharmacy service to specific wards on a rotational basis as well as training in aseptic services to contribute to the cytotoxic, CIVAS and PN will be working with other pharmacists, medicines management technicians, assistants, pre-registration pharmacists and a wider multidisciplinary more information on the main responsibilities for this post, please refer to the job description and person specification.

Person Specification
Qualification & Training
Essential
8. Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
9. Have a vocational master's degree in pharmacy pre-registration training and experience. If qualified before 2002 hold a degree in pharmacy plus 1 year pre-registration training and experience.
Desirable
10. Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
11. Membership of the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy group (NPPG)
12. IT qualification ECDL
