ROTL Placement Co-ordinator
HMP Fosse Way, Leicestershire, LE18 4TN
Permanent (Full-Time, 40 Hrs) Monday - Friday.
Salary - £23,000 - £30,000 depending on experience per annum plus Serco benefits.
At HMP Fosse Way, there are 1x vacancies for ROTL Placement Coordinators, who will be responsible for securing and enabling ROTL/Employment opportunities within the local area and securing employee references. They will also co-ordinate access to the £50K apprenticeship levy we have allocated for local employers for the provision of permanent employment positions for prisoners leaving HMP Fosse Way.
Main accountabilities:
1. Work closely with key stakeholders/departments such as OMU, Industries Workshops, Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), Probation and Employability organisations to identify prisoners that are suitable and ready for ROTL placements.
2. Support departments in completing the process of progressing a prisoner into an identified ROTL placement.
3. Co-ordinate access to the £50K apprenticeship levy we have allocated for local employers for the provision of permanent employment positions for prisoners leaving HMP Fosse Way.
4. Liaise with agencies such as New Futures Network and the local Employment Board to build and grow relationships with local and national employers of ex-offenders willing to take prisoners on ROTL placements.
5. Manage and build relationships with businesses and organisations providing ROTL placements, ensuring we are being responsive to their needs and supporting any issues being addressed in a timely manner.
6. Support prisoners engaging with ROTL placements on a 1-1 basis, acting as a conduit between departments/stakeholders both internally and externally.
7. Build positive case studies of prisoners successfully engaging with ROTL placements to encourage new businesses to engage in the ROTL process.
8. Work alongside Employability providers to support the transition of ROTL opportunities into real employment outcomes upon release.
9. Work flexibly both within HMP Fosse Way and out in the community, to support successful ROTL placements.
What you will need to do the role
1. Experience of working with prisoners, either in an operational or non-operational capacity.
2. An understanding of supporting prisoners/ex-offenders into work/placements/training opportunities.
3. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
4. Ability to work well with different departments/providers.
5. Passionate about supporting positive rehabilitative outcomes for prisoners.
Desirable-
1. Experience/understanding of managing a caseload of prisoners/ex-offenders.
2. Experience of working with prisoners upon release through the gate.
