What you'll do
As a Global Technical Manager at Sainsbury's, your role will involve leading and managing a global team of Technical colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of all technical aspects of product development across our electrical goods categories, in compliance with the quality management system and quality policy. You will develop and implement global supplier management strategies, driving best practises and continuous improvement to meet quality standards and maximise customer satisfaction. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will use your technical expertise, coaching skills, and influencing abilities to effectively navigate evolving business requirements. Additionally, you will champion and deliver on our Corporate Plan for Better commitments. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that suppliers understand Sainsbury's Technical Requirements to maintain product safety, legality, and quality attributes. Working alongside the Head of Technical, you will support the implementation of technical strategies, lead the creation and implementation of best practises and quality policies, and drive supplier development strategies. A key aspect of your role will be managing and developing your team, providing leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching to foster a high-performing team that embodies our company values and prioritises customer satisfaction.
Who you are
1. Relevant manufacturing or engineering post-grad/degree is preferred
2. Proven QA/technical experience within the Electrical category required for the role. Relevant sourcing, retail, manufacturing or product development experience will also be considered
3. Demonstrable experience I management in a multinational corporation
4. Extensive knowledge of quality management systems, ethical audits, testing requirements and manufacturing processes
5. Excellent leadership, people management and communication skills
6. Ability to coach and develop team members with different geographic backgrounds
7. Robust personality with ability to work under pressure and make balanced, timely decisions
8. Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
