We are looking for an enthusiasticperson to join our friendly nursing team for 2 days a week.
General Practice Nurse and clinic roomduties to be undertaken to include dressings, adult Imms, CVD reviews, Bloods,BP/ECG, ear checks, cancer care reviews and health checks. We are looking for 2 days a week on a Wednesdayand Friday plus the opportunity to help out with holiday and sickness cover asavailable.
Primary Care experience is desirable butnot essential as appropriate training will be given to the right candidate.
Salary is dependent on previousexperience and skill level.
Main duties of the job
Routine tasks relating to patient care.
Basic and complex wound care.
Removal of sutures/clips/staples.
Urinalysis.
Ear Syringing.
Performs ECGs.
Venepuncture and preparation of pathology samples.
BP measurement.
CVD reviews.
Health checks.
Adult Immunisations.
Cancer care reviews.

Church Stretton Medical Practice is situated at the bottom of the Stretton Hills and is a rural practice within South West Shropshire. The current patient list size is approximately 7,200 patients.
We are a friendly and professional team that works hard to provide the best service we can to our population. We have a high percentage of patients over the age of 65 years.
Job description
Job responsibilities
Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by lead nurse and GPs
Provide basic and complex wound care to patients
Perform the removal of sutures/clips/staples
Perform urinalysis
Perform ear syringing
Perform ECGs
Venepuncture and the preparation of pathology samples
Conduct blood pressure measurements
Chaperone and assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
Assist GPs with minor surgery and female health clinics if required.
Request basic pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
Follow agreed clinical protocols with referral to lead nurse or GPs as appropriate
Maintain nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
Undertake housekeeping duties including general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
At all times maintain a high standard of data entry and consistency in patient records
Attend mandatory training and any other training deemed appropriate to maintain and develop skill levels
Maintain a high professional standard of nursing care and keep up to date with all aspects of nursing care relevant to the post
Participate in the annual appraisal process, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development
Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintain work areas in a clean, tidy and safe way and free form hazards
Participate in the administrative systems of the practice
Advise the lead nurse/practice manager of potential problems/errors within the range of assigned tasks
Attend and participate in any relevant internal and external meetings as required.
Participate in audit where appropriate

Ensure all Data Protection requirements are met when gathering, recording, storing and sharing Patient data; both manually and on Clinical Systems. Maintain patients privacy and strict confidentiality at all times.
