Lead Capture Manager
Location: Ampthill, Bedfordshire (Hybrid Working)

The Role
As a Lead Capture Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our business by leading the Capture team to develop high-quality, compliant proposals and managing critical business captures.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development and Strategy, you will spearhead capture strategies from opportunity identification to contract execution, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and internal objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a Capture team, driving performance, setting goals, and upholding company values.
* Develop and execute winning capture strategies, ensuring compliance with business development policies.
* Manage the preparation of proposals, pricing strategies, and risk assessments.
* Coordinate with Business Development, Customers, and Delivery Teams to craft competitive and value-driven propositions.
* Drive alignment with broader Lockheed Martin UK (LMUK) priorities and objectives.
* Provide authoritative subject matter expertise on capture processes, from opportunity identification to delivery transition.
* Ensure efficient allocation of resources, skills, and tools to deliver assigned capture activities effectively.
* Foster customer relationships, building trust and credibility at all levels.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience managing Capture teams (10+ members) for programmes valued at £20M+.
* Track record of delivering complex proposals and successful contract awards in military or commercial technology sectors.
* Strong leadership skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams through the full lifecycle of capture activities.
* Familiarity with UK MoD and UK Government procurement processes.
* Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
Desirable Skills:
* Experience managing teams of 30+ personnel and programmes exceeding £50M.
* Background in Defence engineering or export markets.
* Expertise in MOD AWARD tools and MEAT scoring methodologies.
* Proven ability to develop win strategies and drive teaming agreements.
* Security Clearance
