What willyou be responsible for?
As a SeniorEngineer, you'll be working within the Engineeringteam,supporting them inleading a team managinghighway structures as part of the Birmingham highways interimservices contract being delivered by Kier.
Your day to day willinclude:
Leading theHighway Structures Team of engineers and technicians responsiblefor the maintenance of all highway structures on the Birminghamnetwork, manage inventory and condition data for highway structuresusing the ‘Confirm' asset management system Managing theinspection of structures including principal, general and specialinspections using in-house and external resources, leading onstructural reviews and structural assessments, looking after thedevelopment and delivery of major schemes for the repair orstrengthening of bridges, advising the client organisations(Birmingham Highways Ltd / Birmingham city council) on future workprogrammes and priorities Providingadvice to operational teams on the repair of defects associatedwith structures, collaborating with designers, commercial teams,contractors and delivery teams as necessary Reviewingrisk assessments and method statements in accordance with companystandards, undertaking asset valuation and lifecycle planning,analysing and providing reports Performingpeople management duties for direct reports including development,mentoring and supervision, monitoring and reporting progress onactivities the team are completing, meeting performancetargets, goals and objectives
What are we lookingfor?
This role ofSenior Engineer is great for youif:
* Chartered civil or structural engineer, orapproaching chartered status and a degree or qualification in acivil engineering specialism, with extensiveexperience in the design and management of highway structuresincluding assessment and inspection
Experience ofmanaging a technical team, good knowledge of the relevant CScodes of practice, experience in using asset management Ssstems(such as Confirm)
* A full driving licence
