Job description
Role Summary
TfGM are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced Project Manager to join the New Stations team, primarily to lead the delivery of the Salford Central Enhancements.
Key aspects for delivery are the replacement of the platform ramp roof structures, relocation of ticketing provision, and an overall upgrade of lighting/customer information.
TfGM are leading the project as the Client responsible for the delivery of the overall scheme, working closely with Network Rail as asset owner, Northern Trains Ltd as Station Facility Owner (SFO) and Salford City Council
The project is currently in the detailed design phase (ES5) with a view to completing this work for late summer of 2024, and an expected construction to begin at the end of 2024 until summer of 2025.
The Project Manager will be expected to be competent and experienced in NEC 3/4 as the appointed Project Manager, as well as having experience in delivery of infrastructure projects- ideally in the rail environment.
Knowledge of and actual practical experience of CDM 2015 is essential as is the ability to establish/maintain & positively manage key stakeholders- ideally in the rail industry.
A working understanding and experience in working with Network Rail's PACE process is desirable.
The role will report to the Senior Project Manager/Projects and Programme Manager in the Projects Group Rail Delivery Team.
The PM will be seconded to TfGM and be required to work remotely by accessing TfGM online systems but also be office based from TfGM's office at 2 Piccadilly Place, Manchester.
