TRANSPORT PLANNER
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our North Bristol client is a specialist transportation consultancy, who provide technical advice, support and solutions for development related transport and highway issues.
JOB PURPOSE
Due to an increase in contracts won and expansion in the team, they are now looking for their next Transport Planner to join their North Bristol team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The position will be to provide assistance to senior staff with the preparation of Transport Assessments to support commercial and residential planning applications. You will be responsible for the collation and analysis of different types of transportation data and initial drafting of reports.
Ideally you should have an honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant transferrable subject such as Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, Economics, Maths or Sciences
You will have good report writing skills, a high level of numeracy and excellent organisation. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely is imperative.
Some knowledge of transportation software packages including TRICS, Junctions 9 and LINSIG, would be beneficial, but training will be given.
QUALIFICAITONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The position would suit a candidate with 2 – 5 years’ experience in development transport planning.
Ideally you will have a minimum of a degree in a relevant subject, or be able to demonstrate that you have direct experience of work on all scales of commercial and residential development covering the following professional skills:
You will already have experience in the preparation of technical reports including Transport Statements, Assessments, Proofs of Evidence and Travel Plans.
Knowledge of appropriate design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, relevant LA guidance, Traffic Regulation Orders Stopping Up Orders and other legal processes and be experienced in use of industry standard assessment software, particularly LINSIG, ARCADY and PICADY.
You will have excellent written and analytical skills and be articulate and capable at dealing with clients and the public alike.
The position is a full time, permanent role. The position will require the candidate to work independently under the supervision of senior staff in preparing material to support planning applications, co-ordinate with technical staff and suppliers, as well as undertake some business/financial planning responsibilities.
In return the company is paying a salary range of £25-£38k depending on experience, an exciting enjoyable environment and a company benefits package.
