Bruker’s Semiconductor Division is the leader in advanced X-ray metrology and defect inspection tools and automated atomic force microscopy (AAFM) for the silicon and compound semiconductor industries. The division offers the most comprehensive portfolio tools, based on X-ray technologies including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging) and others. The X-ray business unit is based in Migdal Ha’Emek, Israel with facilities in Durham UK, Karlsruhe, Germany and support offices and sales representatives worldwide.
Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for a talented System Engineer for our X-Ray products in our R&D department. The candidate will be able to:
1. Design a complete and complex framework, system, or product.
2. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
3. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyse, and resolve system design weaknesses.
4. Influence future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
5. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation developments.
6. Lead new product developments of tool architecture and design
7. Prepare requirements documents and contribute to design reviews
8. Support the integration process of the Alpha and Beta tools, and optimise tool configurations
9. Transfer knowledge and systems to production: develop and document calibration and alignment processes, prepare tool characterisation test plans, develop test-jigs, train Tech Support and production team
10. Characterise and integrate new components on existing platforms
We are looking for a person with a pragmatic and results oriented attitude to work on challenging projects that will impact current and future products.
Qualifications
11. At least 2 years as a system or application engineer, preferably in Semiconductor metrology.
12. Good understanding of motion control and high-accuracy motion systems
13. Experience with optical systems
14. Experience with PLC systems would be advantageous.
15. Be a self-starter able to work independently as well as part of a small team on challenging problems
16. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
17. Communicate clearly and concisely in English without omitting the details, including mathematical descriptions where needed
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
18. Degree in Engineering or a physical sciences subject, or equivalent experience.
