Job Description
Post: Landscape Recovery Support Officer
Directorate:\t\tPark Management
Responsible to: Landscape Recovery Project Manager

Grade:\t\tBand 3
Hours:\t 22.2 hours per week
Term:\tFixed Term Contract through to 30th June 2026
Workbase:\tEastburn with some possibility of home working
Job purpose
This post will be responsible for the following main tasks:
* To support the effective and efficient administration of the Hadrian’s Wall Wetlands Landscape Recovery Project
* To provide support to the Landscape Recovery Project Manager and team to help ensure the smooth running of the Hadrian’s Wall Wetlands Landscape Recovery Project.
* To provide support for the Landscape Recovery Project Manager with financial management tasks, coordinating the programme monitoring and reporting, preparing draft reports for the Project Manager and helping the Project Manager in ensuring programme deliverables are met.
* Support the Landscape Recovery Project Manager with providing effective day to day, responsive and comprehensive administrative services to the Landscape Recovery Project Team including arranging meetings, supporting reporting through governance processes, supporting the Project Manager with reporting of project lifecycle, diary management, electronic and paper file management, processing correspondence, finance processes and data input and management.
* Contributing to effective communication and team working by acting as a central point of communication to ensure that information is disseminated promptly internally and externally.
* Provide secretariat services for the Project Team and other Project groups. This includes compilation of minutes, preparation of draft paperwork, liaison with organisers and attendees, arrangements of venues and hospitality. Contribute to effective communication with the groups and carry out administrative processes associated with the preparation of agenda and papers for these groups.
* To assist the Project Manager and Project Team to plan, organise, and deliver project events and site meetings with local stakeholders, including farmers and partner organisations.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of efficient and effective administrative processes and systems for the Project Team and across the Project (including databases, spreadsheets, etc).
* To assist the Project Manager in the financial management of the Landscape Recovery Project:
* To help monitor expenditure against the project budget and provide regular updates on progress towards project spend.
* To work with the Authority’s finance team to ensure appropriate budget monitoring and reporting systems.
* To support the Project Manager in reporting to Defra, and other bodies where required, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules.
* Work co-operatively with other administrative staff across the organisation to ensure that appropriate levels of service are maintained during absences and periods of high workload.
Other Duties
* Ensure that work and service provision is carried out in a manner which safeguards the health and safety of the workforce and the general public observing and applying Health & Safety Policy and Practices.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Authority’s Culture and Values.
* Due to the evolving nature of the Landscape Recovery Project, undertake any other duties consistent with the post as may be directed by the Landscape Recovery Project Manager.
* Proactively support the promotion of equality and inclusion in all areas of work.
* Comply with General Protection Data Regulation (GDPR) and implement Memorandum of Understanding with key partners, as appropriate.

Essential
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education including GCSE Maths or equivalent
Skills
* Good interpersonal skills with a wide range of people, including NNPA colleagues, farmers, and partner organisation staff.
* Numeracy and analytical skills
* Confident in the use of information technology systems, the use of Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams
* Excellent organisational skills, self-motivation and ability to progress work with limited supervision
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise a diverse workload
Experience
* Monitoring, recording, and reporting financial data
* Scheduling meetings and taking accurate confidential minutes
* Experience of the effective use of Microsoft Teams including collaborating and sharing documents

Desirable
Knowledge
* Working knowledge of National Parks, local, regional and national government structures in England, and Non-Governmental Organisations
* Knowledge of agricultural and forestry land management grant schemes
* Knowledge of current Agricultural and Natural Environment policy and issues facing rural upland communities.
Experience
* Working in the land management or environmental sectors
* Administrative systems and practice in a local authority setting
* Supporting the delivery of projects and programmes through administrative duties and basic communications
* Monitoring and reporting on projects
* Use of GIS to manage, digitise, display and analyse information
