Are you an advocate for good mental health? Do you have a passion to support students who need a little extra help with processing their emotions?
A warm and welcoming school in the heart of Oxford are looking for a Mental Health Youth Support Worker to join their team starting as soon as possible.
What being a Mental Health Youth Support Worker entails:
Your role as a Mental Health Support assistant will be to help the children in the classroom cope with their processing and working through their emotions.
Many of these children have additional struggles that impact their learning, such as ADHD, ASD, social and emotional needs and language difficulties. These issues sometimes stem from trauma and stress and anxiety. Your role as a Mental Health Support assistant will be to support these students throughout the school day with not only their course work but you will also provide them with a safe place to process and handle their emotions.
You will have an excellent opportunity of working alongside a multi-disciplinary team and learn the best way to support the students.
Not only will this role provide you with excellent experience working with vulnerable children, you will also leave at the end of the day knowing that you made a positive difference on the lives of those students.
