We are looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants who are willing to work with children in mainstream primary schools in Rochdale and surrounding areas. You will be supporting young pupils in a full-time position (8.30 am-3.30 pm Monday-Friday).
The schools we work with place a strong emphasis on personalised inclusion, offering a creative and inspirational learning journey tailored to each child's needs, promoting independence and character growth. The supportive school community ensures childrens' safety, happiness, and steady advancement towards their individual goals and attainments.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Assist with classroom management to create an inclusive learning environment.
2. Support children in developing daily living skills for increased independence.
3. Monitor and report on the child's progress to facilitate appropriate adjustments in support.
4. Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
5. Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
6. The confidence to evaluate learning needs and actively seek new working methods.
7. Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)
8. A good understanding of the national EYFS/Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 curriculum.
9. Willingness and ability to adapt in response to changing circumstances.
10. To be a supportive member of staff, assisting the classroom teacher where needed.
11. The ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
