Required skills, qualifications and experience
1. Experience in a technical delivery environment with demonstrable success of team leadership and project performance management.
2. Good understanding of Engineering tools processes, requirements definition, interface documentation Test and Qualification procedures and practices required to support the development, acceptance and sell off of solutions.
3. Experience of Control Account Management, development of Basis of Estimates using metrics, including management of risk.
4. Experience of leading and day to day managing of people.
5. Strong communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
6. The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered when required.
7. Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex topics.
Knowledge and experience of the following would be beneficial:
1. Experience of working in a security related industry.
2. Degree in Engineering or other STEM subjects.
3. Ability to analyse technical problems and provide pragmatic solutions.
4. Proven ability to produce cost effective and technically compliant solutions.
5. Familiarity with Model Based Engineering (UML, SysML, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect).

Role Responsibilities:
1. Accountable for overall engineering technical, cost and schedule performance on a specific programme. Providing the primary technical interface with Programme Management (PM) Office and Customer for all programmatic items.
2. Accountable for ensuring that the Programme/Project has the Engineering Capabilities established and maintained to deliver the Programme/Project Technical Solutions within the Programme/Project schedule and cost envelope.
3. Accountable for the production and maintenance of artefacts that describe the Engineering Processes, Tools and Practices that are employed to realise the Programme/Project Technical Solutions.
4. Working closely with other Project Managers, Service Managers, Team Leads and other Resourcing Leaders, being accountable for ensuring that the required Engineering Resources for the Programme/Project are in place.
5. Accountable for reporting metrics that indicate completeness of the Engineering activities.
6. Supporting Engineering Team Leads in providing day to day employee management, performance assessment, work assignments, approvals and recognition/disciplinary actions.
7. Leads or coordinates subcontract management.
