As a Counsellor, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering Psychological Therapy Services: Utilize your expertise to provide effective psychological therapy services.
Conducting Psychological Health Surveillance (PHS): Perform thorough Psychological Health Surveillance to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Planning, Prioritising, and Managing Caseload: Take charge of your caseload by planning, prioritizing, and managing tasks efficiently.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experiences:
1. Core Practitioner Qualification: Hold a core practitioner qualification in individual counselling or psychotherapy (minimum diploma level).
2. Minimum 3 Years Post-Qualifying Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualifying skill and experience to practice competently and safely.
3. Additional Qualifications and Experience: Have additional qualifications and experience in at least two other core modalities, emphasizing trauma-focused and solution-focused therapeutic approaches.
4. Ethical Framework and Conflict Resolution: Exhibit the ability to evaluate work within an ethical framework and resolve conflicts and ethical dilemmas safely.
5. Assessment and Risk Management: Showcase experience in initial and ongoing assessments, along with the ability to risk assess, manage, and make decisions informed by safeguarding principles.
6. Theory and Practice Application: Apply the theory and practice of therapy from initial assessment to ending, ensuring accurate record-keeping throughout.
7. Team Working and Equality Awareness: Utilize team working skills, incorporating equality awareness and diversity in professional relationships.
8. Commitment to Personal Development: Demonstrate commitment to personal development, self-awareness, and supervision to ensure safe, ethical standards of practice.
9. Professional Registration: Be a registered member of a professional organization for counselling and psychotherapy, such as the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) or equivalent.
