Overview:
Are you a looking to work with SEN children (no qualifications required) in a primary school?
Do you enjoy inspiring students across Reception to Year 6 by working in a 1-1 as an SEN Teaching Assistant?
We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant who can bring passion and energy to a growing SEN department.
You will need to work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher.
Experience working with SEN Children is preferred however no experience is also more than welcome.
You will need to:
* Support pupils with SEND with educational adaptions on a 1:1 basis and care plans.
* Providing behaviour support to SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis in line with individual behaviour plans, behaviour policies, STEPS/attachment training and any other learning specific training given.
* Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and school leadership to enhance the educational experience.
* Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to child protection and safeguarding.
* Within your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant you may have to assist pupils with eating, dressing and hygiene, as required, whilst encouraging independence.
* Contribute to evidence for ISPs, EHCP and referrals.
* Support all pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
Person Specification
* Working with or caring for children from 3 – 11 years.
* Any Teaching Assistant training or SEN training (Desirable).
* Display commitment to protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
* Confidence in maintaining a good code of behaviour.
* Ability to relate well to children and adults
* Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these
