Mathematics Teaching Opportunity in Burgess Hill
An SEN school in Burgess Hill, dedicated to supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, is looking for a passionate and skilled Mathematics Teacher to join their team. This nurturing and inclusive educational community provides a supportive environment for students not currently in mainstream education.
Role Overview: We are looking for a candidate with either experience or a strong interest in working with children dealing with severe SEMH issues and behavioural difficulties. This experience could come from mainstream education or special/PRU school settings.
Mathematics is a central part of the curriculum at this school, taught across all year groups. They seek a qualified teacher who can engage and inspire students in various mathematical disciplines and has experience teaching Mathematics up to GCSE level. Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons in line with the school's curriculum.
2. Collaborate with the Examinations Officer and Head of School to manage exam entries.
3. Monitor and support the progress of all students within the subject.
4. Plan, prepare, and teach lessons tailored to the diverse needs of the students.
5. Motivate and inspire students with dynamic and imaginative teaching methods.
6. Maintain classroom discipline through effective behaviour management techniques.
7. Prepare and mark students' work to encourage positive development.
8. Fulfill assessment and recording requirements for student progress.
9. Provide regular feedback to parents and carers regarding student progress.
