The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join the leadership on a key site of our client's national operations. This is an opportunity to lead production operations in a dynamic processing environment, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role and can effectively manage staff, optimise production, and meet rigorous quality targets in a dynamic and high volume environment.
Although this is a single site production leadership role, a strong & effective candidate will have the opportunity to mentor and develop the capability of the business's wider production leadership teams.
The Role
As the Production Manager, you will report to the Site Manager and oversee the plant's daily production flow. Your responsibilities include managing the production process from start-up to end-of-day cleaning, ensuring that health and safety regulations are met, and all products meet company and client quality standards.
Key areas include:
* Leading health and safety initiatives to reduce incidents and meet audit compliance.
* People leadership and management to maintain productivity and processing efficiency.
* Overseeing end-of-day cleaning and sanitation to regulatory standards.
* Monitoring wage costs and managing temporary labour needs.
* Collaborating with Maintenance and Quality teams to ensure plant machinery operates reliably and meets quality expectations.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
* Proven experience in a production management role within a food processing or similar environment.
* Positive leadership skills, with a focus on team development, health and safety, and operational efficiency.
* Knowledge of quality control, health and safety compliance, and production best practices.
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to address maintenance and quality issues effectively.
