We have a fantastic opportunity for a Refrigeration Engineer to join our brilliant Site Services team!
Based at our site in Poole, you will form part of an integral team, responsible for the day-to-day running, maintenance, and repairs of various refrigeration plants across the site.

Poole Bakery produces chilled savoury rolls, savoury hot pies, pasties, and slices. The business has been producing products at its current site since 1937 and previously as Millers of Poole.

Location: Poole, BH15 2AS
Hours: 38.5 hours, Monday to Friday, rotating 06:00-14:30/13:30-22:00 (either weekly or biweekly)
On call rota: every other week (including the weekend of that week)
Attend site for weekend checks, circa 2 hours per day, 1 in 4 weekends as per rota.
Salary: £46,000 per annum
Your Duties Will Include:
* Daily Plant checks to include Ammonia-Glycol Plant, Grasso (Freon/FGAS) Plant, CO2 Spiral Plant and Cooling Tower (BAC) checks for each of the 3 active cooling towers.
* Regularly monitor the Plant overview system for faults and action these in a timely manner.
* Daily water samples from each cooling tower and relevant tests performed, identifying, and rectifying any issues as required.
* Produce permits to work for contractors, monitoring and overseeing the work on contractors.
* Attend breakdowns, identify, and rectify faults. Record breakdowns on the CMMS (Hollistech) system.
* Perform building and fabric repairs as required e.g. fridge doors, walls, barriers, door handles with completion recorded on the CMMS (Hollistech) system.
* Dosing system to be topped up with Bromine and other water treatment chemicals added when required.
* Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM’s) and record on the CMMS (Hollistech) system.
* Ad hoc tasks including fire alarm testing, boiler checks/repairs, building and fabric repairs, general plant maintenance.
* Daily handovers between refrigeration engineers including issues outstanding and issues in progress.
Experience:
* Multiskilled Refrigeration Engineer who has experience with Freon, CO2 and Ammonia refrigerants, as well as a strong electrical background and good mechanical ability
* Category 1 FGAS Certificate with previous on-the-job experience (does not need to include
* hydrocarbons or M.A.C)
* Minimum Level 2 Refrigeration related qualification
* Minimum Level 2 Electrical qualification preferably with industrial experience
* Experience working in complex electrical control panels of all voltages both with and without the presence of drawings
* Experience working with inverters, primarily Danfoss, Fenner, and in-fan mounted inverters e.g. “Ebmpapst”
* Good mechanical ability ideally with a level 2 or greater certification
* Experience of working with stock count and ordering systems.
* PLC knowledge (desirable)
* Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (desirable)
Key Skills:
* Good literacy & numeracy skills
* Good computer competency in MS Office and CMMS systems
* Ability to fault find when given a breakdown or work order
* Prioritising, taking into consideration both H&S and food safety risks
* Good communication skills, including accurate and concise in delivery of information such as relaying instructions/ reports effectively
* Able to follow instructions and procedures
* Team oriented to enable production and engineering department to reach targets
* Can demonstrate a logical approach to fault diagnosis
