Join us as Shift Maintenance Electrician in Glasgow! In this role you will be responsible for carrying out all field or workshop activities related to electrical maintenance, ensuring the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. We are looking for an open-minded specialist who is eager to grow and evolve.
As a Shift Maintenance Electrician, your duties will be:
* Ensuring that good working conditions and safety standards are maintained,
* Affirming the permit to work system and any other safety system are strictly adhered to,
* Assessing risks, carrying out Risk Analysis and planning corrective actions as and when required,
* Taking responsibility for self- and coworkers to adhering to the organization's policies, procedures and instructions,
* Carrying out plant isolations and permitting as per procedures, if authorized,
* Being responsible for ensuring good housekeeping and ensuring that on completion of work the work area is returned to a high standard of cleanliness and all safety protection has been inspected and returned to the required standard,
* Undertaking all training required to fulfill required duties and improve skill sets,
* Performing troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and allied electrical devices that may arise during the day or shift,
* Preparing incident report for any electrical stoppage,
* Carrying out maintenance work on motor, switchgear, transformer, breaker, switches to ensure reliability of electrical equipment,
* Conducting periodic inspection on running electrical equipment and measuring the data needed to determine any abnormalities on equipment,
* Executing calibrations, repair, servicing or replacement of electrical components and as required replacement of defective lighting,
* Participating in Root Cause Analysis of plant failure or issues,
* Creating Work Request using the Maintenance Package Software,
* Updating the history file of equipment after any accomplished job and making sure shift report is completed at end of each shift to provide seamless information to oncoming shift peers,
* Coordinating with other departments to facilitate repair and inspection work,
* Making sure the departmental handover process is followed, and handover is received and given to shift peer,
* Taking the necessary action on any breaches in line with HR policies including carrying out investigations into employee related matters e.g. disciplinary hearings, performance management discussions, capability hearings and grievance hearings,
* Performing other related jobs sometimes if assigned to do so,
* Working in a rotating 12 hr shift schedule: 2 day shifts, then 2 night shifts followed by 4 days off.
Requirements
* Minimum 3-year experience in continuous process plant machinery,
* Educational background of HND or equivalent,
* From 5 to 6 years demonstratable experience working in a manufacturing environment with heavy duty machinery or similar,
* Work experience as an Electrical Technician or equivalent,
* Electrical Regulation 17th Edition and Compex training would be preferred,
* Thorough knowledge of general electrical maintenance activities including HV LV, Motors control circuits automation instrumentation etc.,
* Knowledge of basic safety requirements, safety procedures, experience of maintenance methods, tools and systems,
* Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills,
* Ability to read and understand all electrical and process control drawings,
