Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a part time Receptionist for our busy GP practice.
We are looking for someone that is pro active, caring and has a positive can do attitude to join our friendly team.
Main duties of the job
The role includes meeting and greeting patients, receiving telephone calls, maintaining confidential patients medical records and general administration duties. You will need to be efficient, organised, have good IT and communication skills and be able to prioritise.

Job responsibilities
Offer generalassistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image topatients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone, at NewCourt Surgery.
Receive, assistand direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcareprofessional in a courteous, efficient and effective manner.
Undertake avariety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of thePractice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff andother members of the Practice team.
Facilitateeffective communication between patients, members of the primary health careteam, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
The duties andresponsibilities to be undertaken by members of the Practice Reception team mayinclude any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be variedfrom time to time under the direction of the Reception and Operations TeamLeads, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels.
Opening/lockingup of the Surgery premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practiceprotocols as needed.
Maintaining and monitoring the Surgeries appointments system.
Processingtelephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations andensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare services.
Taking accurate messages and passing on information as required in atimely manner.
Maintaining and actioning both electronic and paper documentation.
Processingprescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.
Initiatingcontact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members andassociated healthcare agencies and providers.
Photocopyingand scanning as required.
Keepingthe reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free fromobstructions and clutter
Flexibility to work additional hours to cover unplannedcolleague absence is essential.
