About the Opportunity
Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West).
Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Jacobs is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our New Nuclear Power Business with opportunities to supporting our key client’s UK nuclear fleet through a business transformation, and by supporting new small modular reactor developers.
This is an exciting role with the opportunity to gain great experience in the Nuclear industry, supporting our clients based at stations or facilities for periods of time. Therefore, a willingness to travel and potentially be based away from home during the working work will be required. At times, there will also be the facility to work from a Jacobs office or from home dependent on client and project requirements. You will work as part of a client focused multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Candidates will be familiar with the requirements of working in a regulated environment providing RE support and as a Jacobs employee, you will deliver work to high HSSE standards in compliance to HSSE regulations. Responsibilities will include:
1. Producing detailed design drawings, calculations, design control plans, validation & verification plans, designers risk assessments, quality plans
2. Production of or contribution to substantiation reports, operating and maintenance operating procedures in line with manufacturing specifications, equipment recovery plans, test procedures and test reports
3. Preparing technical solutions to meet customer requirements and initial concepts to provide optimal project solutions with current best practice and to the relevant standards and procedures
4. Supporting design reviews and HAZOPs
5. Maintaining and developing associated client relationships
