Job summary
This exciting Band 7 physiotherapy role is based within a well-established large, busy but supportive team. The successful candidate will require strong leadership skills and confidence to work as an autonomous practitioner, and be motivated and dynamic. You will have highly specialist clinical skills and experience working with critical care patients, to include respiratory physiotherapy skills. You will be skilled in assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical, cognitive and psychological health conditions within the critical care specialties in order to develop and deliver treatment plans. The position involves coordinating the dynamic clinical service to the Critical care wards working alongside the Respiratory and Surgical/ Vascular Band 7 therapists as an intrinsic member of the MDT, with support from Clinical Leads as required. We strongly support CPD and you will be supported in your role directly by the Clinical Leads for the ARCCS Team. Peer support will also be provided by the existing B7 Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. You will be valued, and will be encouraged to influence and develop services. You will be required to undertake respiratory on-call/ weekend duties on both sites and participate in the 7-day therapy service. The post may involve cross-site working.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients within your area of specialty, using a holistic approach, thereby facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries.
To provide specialist guidance to other members of the MDT on matters relating to your specialist area.
Provide leadership for the Physiotherapy team, in conjunction with the Therapy leads and Clinical Specialist, in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy service provided to patients within your specialist area on a day-to-day basis.
To provide a lead role in teaching and supporting colleagues in matters relating to specialist area.
