As a Shift Fitter at our Barton Under Needwood facility, your technical skills and problem-solving abilities will keep our production line running smoothly. This is a full-time, permanent position with a rotating three-shift pattern, ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment and takes pride in maintaining equipment to the highest standards. If you’re passionate about hands-on work and eager to be part of a team that values safety and continuous improvement, this role offers you the chance to make a real difference.
* Operate and maintain essential factory machinery to meet production goals.
* Ensure all machinery and equipment are kept in optimal working order through preventative maintenance.
* Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
* Take an active role in promoting health, safety, and welfare values, with a commitment to achieving zero harm.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for efficiency and quality enhancements.
* Apply welding, fabrication, and skills in hydraulics and pneumatics to keep equipment operating at its best.
Who You Are
You’re an experienced maintenance professional who thrives in a production setting. Your hands-on skills, proactive mindset, and commitment to safety make you a strong fit for this role.
* You’ve completed a mechanical apprenticeship and hold relevant certifications, such as City & Guilds, B Tech, or NVQ Level 2 or 3.
* You bring solid mechanical skills in areas like metal fabrication, welding, and machine maintenance.
* You have experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and can diagnose and repair issues efficiently.
* You’re motivated and proactive, always looking for ways to improve site processes and operations.
* You’re comfortable working with a team, and your communication skills allow you to collaborate effectively.
* You’re organised, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to the rotating shift pattern.
