Facilities Manager Vacancy
Pickwick Academy Trust would like to appoint a permanent, full-time Facilities Manager based at Gillingham Primary School.
Required to start: as soon as possible
Hours: 37 hours per week, exact hours and days of working to be agreed on appointment as some flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role. Please note in line with anticipated Trust growth, the role will incorporate a responsibility for other local schools and the management of maintenance staff. Flexible working requests will be considered subject to the requirements of the role.
Salary Point: Dorset Grade 9, Scale Point 19-25, £29,777 - £33,945 per annum
Pickwick Academy Trust is currently made up of eleven community and church primary schools across Wiltshire and Dorset, and is organised into three geographically proximate ‘hubs’. The schools in the Trust are committed to working together to provide the best schools and outcomes for their children.
Gillingham Primary School is a 9-class primary school with a 14 place Resource Base. Situated right in the heart of Gillingham, North Dorset, their busy and vibrant atmosphere and inclusive ethos welcomes every child and family.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the delivery of a professional and effective Premises and Health and Safety function at Gillingham Primary School and ensuring the same standards are in place across other local schools within a six mile radius.
Job Purpose:
The Facilities Manager is responsible to the Trust Head of Facilities (Designated Line Manager) and the Headteacher for providing a wide range of proactive and planned maintenance and refurbishment services for both buildings and grounds, and ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and recommended practice relevant to the role. Liaison with external contractors, including catering, cleaning and grounds maintenance teams, to ensure efficient and effective service, is required.
