People Specialist
Your role as a People Specialist in the RAF will be diverse, exciting, and highly rewarding. Wherever the RAF is operational, there is a team of People Specialists ready to provide a professional service to personnel of all specialisations. In the People
Specialisation you will be undertaking roles such as:
* Advising on and administering pay and allowances, movements, travel and accommodation
* Processing performance appraisals
* Preparing RAF personnel for deployment to operations and military exercises and supporting them throughout, often deploying with and working alongside them
* Providing Welfare support to all personnel in the UK and overseas
* Administering Service Discipline procedures
* Managing career assignments in the UK and overseas, enhancing personnel employment pathways
* Analytics & Business Intelligence
* Executive Support
* Business Support
* Employment Policy
* Accounting & Finance
* Other roles may include Recruitment, Instructing/Training and many more.
Salary of the People Specialist:
Pay starting at £25,200 + benefits
Qualifications you need for the People Specialist;
None. However GCSE or equivalent at Grade C/4 (Scottish National 5 at Grade C) or above in English Language and Mathematics are desired.
If you do not hold the desirable qualifications, you will be given the opportunity to complete Functional Skills Level 2 at no cost. Completion of FS is mandatory to proceed to Phase 2 Training.
Joining age for the People Specialist - 16-47 (applications can be made from 15 years and 9 months)
Other entry requirements for the People Specialist;
You must be a UK, Republic of Ireland, a commonwealth citizen since birth (with ‘right to work’ immigration status) or holder of dual UK/other nationality.
Whether or not you were born in the UK, you should have resided there for 3 years immediately preceding your application.
Apprenticeship/Training;
Training is 8 weeks at MOD Worthy Down (following Basic Training) and personnel will gain a Foundation Certificate in People Practice by undertaking a CIPD Level 3 qualification.
