We're seeking a proactive and experienced Site Agent to join an established team on a large rail civil engineering project in West Yorkshire.
Role Overview:
As the Site Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, coordination, and execution of the project. Your leadership and expertise will ensure that site activities progress smoothly, safely, and efficiently, ultimately contributing to the successful completion of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing Site Personnel: Supervise and coordinate the site team, including engineers, subcontractors, and labourers, to ensure that construction work progresses according to plan and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Planning and Scheduling: Assist in developing the project plan, setting construction milestones, and creating detailed schedules for various activities. Monitor progress, identify potential delays, and take proactive measures to keep the project on track.
• Quality Control: Oversee quality control processes to ensure that construction work meets required standards and specifications. Conduct inspections, review test results, and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
• Health and Safety: Prioritise safety on the construction site by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety briefings, and monitoring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Communication and Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between the construction site and other stakeholders, including the project manager, design team, and client. Facilitate effective communication, coordinate activities, and provide regular progress updates.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Site Agent on heavy civil engineering projects.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent planning and organisational abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and quality control processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
