A primary school based in Birkenhead have approached New Directions to assist them in finding a Learning Support Assistant to support within their year 3 class. This is a full-time role, starting September 2024 continuing on an ongoing basis. Within this role you will be supporting with general duties within the classroom and supporting students with their learning in smaller groups or on a 1:1 basis when required.
For this role you will need:

4. Strong behaviour management and experience with challenging behaviours

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
19. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
20. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
21. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
22. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
23. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
