Job Title: SC Cleared Electrical Project Manager (Electrical Bias – Nuclear & Defence)
Location: Berkshire (2-3 days per week on-site)
Security Clearance: Minimum SC Clearance required
Employment Type: Contract (long term) outside of scope of IR35 pending determination
We are partnering with a leading Engineering contractor that provides engineering solutions and operational support to some of the UK’s most prominent defence contractors. Due to sustained growth, they are seeking an SC Cleared Project Manager with an electrical bias to join their team, based in Reading. This role will focus on site installation and maintenance projects within the Nuclear and Defence sectors and the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects while adhering to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee site-based installation and maintenance projects in the Nuclear and Defence sectors.
Coordinate project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations and client requirements.
Act as the primary on-site point of contact, ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance throughout all project phases.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to ensure work is completed to technical specifications and within agreed timelines.
Maintain and update project documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and progress reports.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
Required Experience and Skills:
Proven experience managing projects in highly regulated environments, particularly within the Nuclear and Defence sectors.
Strong electrical bias with hands-on experience in site installation and maintenance projects.
A demonstrated ability to successfully lead projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
A solid understanding of health, safety, and regulatory compliance, particularly in Nuclear and Defence settings.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to resolve issues and maintain smooth project delivery.
Qualifications:
Minimum SC Clearance (active and valid).
APM (Association for Project Management) or equivalent qualification.
Background in electrical engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
Working Pattern:
2-3 days per week on-site, with flexibility for hybrid work the remainder of the week.
9 day working fortnight.
