About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our thriving Humanities Department. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a dynamic and engaging curriculum that brings the study of Geography to life for students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential to teach KS5 for the right candidate).
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making an impact and is committed to helping students understand the importance of global issues, environmental challenges, and cultural diversity. The successful candidate will join a supportive team and benefit from continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality Geography lessons, adapting teaching methods to engage and inspire all learners.
2. Develop and implement schemes of work that promote a curiosity for the subject and deepen understanding of both local and global geographical concepts.
3. Encourage active participation in fieldwork, projects, and interactive activities to build practical and analytical skills.
4. Support students in their academic journey, preparing them for exams and further study.
5. Participate in departmental meetings, school activities, and contribute to a positive school ethos.
About You:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree in Geography or a related field.
2. A track record of strong teaching in Geography, with experience of teaching in a secondary school setting (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply).
3. A passion for Geography and commitment to student success.
4. Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
5. A commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative approach to teaching.
