If so, Tradewind has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and work 1:1 with Key Stage 2 pupils in a specialist primary setting in Leyland from January 2025, or as soon as possible, on a long term basis. Daily rates of pay available £90-95 per day, dependant upon experience, and temporary to permanent opportunities are also available for the right candidate in 2025!! (We pay our candidates directly via PAYE, not via a third party umbrella company!!)
As a Teaching Assistant in this pupil referral unit (PRU), you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to KS2 pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and whom display challenging behaviour, as well as other additional needs including autism.
You will work closely with the students, teachers, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to Key Stage 2 pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and other associated learning difficulties.
Assist with classroom activities and tasks.
Foster a nurturing and encouraging learning environment.
Monitor and track the progress of students.
Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create effective learning plans.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Forge and develop relationships with pupils.
Requirements:
A passion for working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and a desire to contribute to their development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant experience in a special educational needs or care setting supporting children with additional needs is desirable.
Level 2, 3 or 4 teaching assistant qualifications or relevant degree honours are highly advantageous
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
In order to register with Tradewind to work as an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will need to:
Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure - or hold a DBS currently subscribed to DBS Update Service.
Provide overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and undergo professional reference checks.
Ensure your CV covers all employment and education since leaving secondary school.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
