We're recruiting a Careers Adviser to join our In-Custody Information, Advice and Guidance team. If you're passionate about helping people, we'd love to hear from you!
Working in custody, you'll support our participants by providing career advice and guidance and helping them explore their learning and employment options in preparation for life in the community. You'll use a variety of delivery methods, including the coordination of job fairs or sector-specific talks, plus visits from employers or motivational speakers.
We need your skills to empower and encourage customers to develop a career skills action plan and support them in their learning and development whilst monitoring their progress to build their confidence throughout their journey to successfully starting work, learning or both.
We provide on-the-job training and will support you to achieve your Level 4 Certificate in Careers Information and Guidance if you do not currently hold this qualification.
In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we're offering a competitive salary range of £26,000 - £29,545 per annum with these great additional benefits:

Location: HMP Exeter
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of participants, supporting the achievement of personal and team targets
* Provide careers advice and information, supporting participants to achieve work, learning and personal development goals
* Deal with challenging situations in a professional and confidential manner
* Ensure all information is recorded timely and accurately to the tracking system
* Deliver employability workshops and coordinate careers events/relevant speaker visits
Skills and Experience
* Minimum of Level 4 qualification in Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance, or the willingness to work towards this qualification
* A good working knowledge of the local labour market in the specified geographical locations
* Experience of working in a target-driven environment
* Knowledge of the Careers and Employability industry
* Knowledge of the recruitment industry
* Experience of working with people in the provision of information, advice & guidance
* Full driving licence to enable deployment across a specified geographical area
