Are you an experienced Transport Supervisor with a background in food/FMCG retail? Do you like the idea of assisting the transport function on a key contract for one of the biggest, fastest-growing names in logistics? Are you ready for your next challenge? We’re looking for a Transport Supervisor to support our Tesco contract in Widnes. Working on a 4 on 4 off Day shift, You’ll be responsible for supporting the Transport Manager in the overall running of a safe, efficient and cost-effective transport operation.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
* I am the Transport supervisor to the Transport function of the Distribution Centre, reporting to the Operations Manager
* I ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism
* I support the Operations Manager with any fleet or driver duties required.
* I oversee and direct the clerks on my shift, ensuring the defect, pre brief and de brief process is adhered to.
* I ensure that details of vehicle accidents are investigated & escalated to line management
* I ensure investigations are completed within 10 days and escalated where required.
* I oversee, conduct, and distribute the VOR report for the shift
* I monitor driver performance and compliance, Including Tachomaster reporting and Driver scoring
* I monitor vehicle compliance on Tachomaster, Trailermaster and R2C.
* I complete customer or XPO KPI’s as required
* I ensure all good to go assets are back in service by liaising with shunters
* I work closely with the VMU and other vendors to ensure the fleet is serviced and compliant at all times.
* I ensure fleet is stood down in line with servicing and VOR requirements.
* I complete driver DCRS with my allocated drivers.
* I manage driver absence following the Absence Management Policy.
* I ensure HR tasks are completed within the required time, and to the standard expected.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
* A proven track record as a Transport Supervisor or a Transport Shift Manager within a fast-paced distribution
* Good working knowledge of Microlise and Tachomaster and R2C systems
* At least 2 years’ experience of progressively more responsible jobs within Operations or Planning
* Planning skills and problem-solving skills
* Transport management CPC would be beneficial but not essential.
* Excellent working knowledge of transport compliance
* The ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team with a real drive for optimisation and continuous improvement
