### Job Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic project team working on a leisure project in West London. The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial management and cost control throughout the project lifecycle, from initial estimates through to final account.
### Key Responsibilities:
- **Cost Management**: Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial performance is monitored and managed. Identify areas of cost-saving and efficient resource use without compromising quality.
- **Tendering & Procurement**: Prepare tender documents and manage the procurement process for subcontractors, suppliers, and materials. Evaluate tenders, negotiate prices, and secure agreements within budget.
- **Valuations & Payments**: Conduct regular valuations of ongoing work and agree on stage payments with the project team and subcontractors.
- **Variation Control**: Manage change control processes and document any variations or changes to the project, ensuring they are costed accurately and reflected in budgets.
- **Final Accounts**: Lead the process of settling final accounts and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately completed by the end of the project.
- **Risk Management**: Identify potential project risks and ensure appropriate contingency plans are in place, with a focus on cost-related risks.
- **Liaison**: Work closely with the project team, including contractors, architects, engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure smooth financial progress.
- **Reporting**: Prepare and present regular financial reports, forecasts, and performance reviews to senior management and stakeholders.
- **Legal & Contractual Compliance**: Ensure all contractual, legal, and statutory requirements are met in line with industry best practices.
### Requirements:
- **Experience**: Proven track record working as a Quantity Surveyor on mixed-use (commercial & leisure) projects, ideally within the £10-£15 million range.
- **Qualifications**: Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar. Membership in RICS or CIOB is preferred but not essential.
- **Software Skills**: Proficient in cost management and project management software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Excel, etc.).
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of building regulations, contracts, and JCT/D&B forms of contract.
- **Skills**: Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- **Communication**: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
