Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor
Location : Doncaster with site based travel.
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 Negotiable dependant on level of experience plus car allowance, travel, accommodation and package
Company Information:
A successful rail infrastructure contractor specialising in track installation & signalling is looking to recruit a Site based Health & Safety Advisor to support their busy team and actively ensure high standards of Health & Safety are attained
The successful candidates will be based in our Doncaster Head Office but must be prepared to travel to our sites throughout the UK. You will ideally have experience of working and providing support on a range of rail engineering and maintenance projects.
You will be responsible for working very closely with our clients, site management teams and workforce in giving support and guidance in order to maintain a high standard of health, safety, and environmental management within the business. You will assist with the preparation and development of risk assessments, conduct site audits, suggest improvements, provide advice on any issue relating to HSE matters and provide regular reports.
The successful candidate will be confident and able to discuss a wide range of HSE related topics with the workforce and senior management and promote best practice and a positive culture.
Essential Requirements for the Health & Safety Advisor
Required
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- PTS
- Driving License
- Member of IOSH
- Experience of working with and providing HSE support to a range of rail engineering and maintenance projects
- An understanding of safety, environmental & quality management systems
- An understanding of behavioural change implementation

- Internal Auditor Qualification
- IEMA membership
- CSCS Card
- Face Fit Tester
- First Aider
Main Duties for the Health & Safety Advisor
- Provide Health & Safety support to Rail Sector projects
- Assist in the development of Health & Safety related documentation including CPP, WPP, TBS, RAMS
- Promoting the awareness of Health & Safety issues and activities across the projects
- Receive, review and disseminate Health & Safety information
- Organisation of investigations into incidents and accidents, reporting of conclusions and implement
corrective actions as necessary
- Maintain liaison with Trackwork Clients, Network Rail, Enforcement Agencies and Third Parties on Health & Safety
issues
- Support the Head of Health & Safety in developing Health & Safety Strategies and maintaining third party accreditations
- Take stewardship of the internal and external audit program and support area offices in respect to third party audits
