We are looking for a dynamic, flexible, and creative person to teach English in Whitehaven and surrounding areas.
This role supports our learners on GCSE and Functional Skills pathways from Entry 1 to Level 2. Experience of teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages would be an advantage.
You must hold a recognised teaching qualification or be in the process of working towards one and have recent experience of teaching accredited Functional Skills or GCSE. Experience of working with ESOL learners, learners at Entry level, and/or supporting learners with low starting points would also be advantageous.
Our service works with learners of all abilities whose skill levels range from absolute beginner to intermediate and beyond. All are looking for our support to improve their life chances and job prospects.
You will need to demonstrate the ability to teach to meet a range of learning styles and support learners with diverse needs.
Teaching hours will be varied. Classes take place in daytime and evening hours, and due to the vulnerable nature of our learners, we will need you to carry out your teaching face to face and online.
Our Whitehaven tutors pride themselves on being a friendly ‘can-do’ team, and we’d love you to come and join us to make a real difference in people’s lives.
