12-month Interim Project Engineer Contract
Position: Project Engineer Contract
Rate: £220 per day
Contract Duration: 2nd January 2025 to 2nd December 2025
Location: Heathrow
Role Overview
The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning and controlling day-to-day activities to support on-site customer projects and minor works. This includes delivering projects to meet time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives as defined by the Project Management team. The role also involves assessing ad-hoc customer scope and surveys to enable accurate quotations.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Deliver site-based project activities to agreed cost targets, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
2. Support the on-site Project Management team in maximising revenue from contracts through scope growth and variation orders.
3. Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company and customer processes, procedures, and statutory obligations.
4. Provide timely resource and cost predictions, working closely with resource managers and central procurement.
5. Generate required Risk Assessments and Method Statements to the required standards.
6. Submit and coordinate required permits to ensure works are delivered within the required time frames.
7. Provide professional project planning throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Ensure timely and accurate internal and customer project reporting.
9. Request and order required materials for each project in a timely manner.
10. Operate with regard to the Health & Safety of employees and third parties, ensuring consistency with company and statutory obligations.
11. Professionally represent the company at all times, protecting company assets and reputation.
12. Participate in any training required to achieve essential accreditations and qualifications.
13. Perform any other tasks as requested by the line manager.
Ideal Candidate
14. Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in the structured cabling industry.
15. Experience with Project Management controls, including initiation, change management, risk management, and project plans.
16. Familiarity with industry-standard testers and testing procedures.
17. Excellent technical understanding of structured cabling design and technologies.
18. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, self-starter, and problem-solving abilities.
19. Knowledge required to manage a safe construction site, SMSTS qualification or equivalent.
20. Valid ECS health & safety card.
21. Airport or similar industry experience is beneficial.
22. A 5-year background check required for an Airside pass.
23. Full driving licence.
