Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to work in People Commissioning as a Commissioning Manager. You will support the People Commissioning Team in commissioning a range of key programmes, ensuring we secure the best external providers to deliver advantageous services to our customers.
If successful, you will lead aspects of the commissioning process, develop market intelligence, and conduct analysis to identify service gaps. You will engage a variety of stakeholders throughout the commissioning process and follow the Council’s governance processes.
You will work as a Commissioning Business Partner to the Council’s People Services (Adult Social Care & Housing, Children & Family Wellbeing, and Public Health & Communities) and commission services that enable them to deliver their statutory duties and transformation plans.
We are looking for an innovative individual with skills, knowledge, and experience in delivering/managing projects. You will need to be an effective communicator, able to understand and interpret data and deliver outcomes. A background in commissioning is not necessary, just a desire and ability to effect change.
The role includes line management of a Commissioning Officer and/or a Commissioning Assistant who will support you in commissioning activities.
This is an office-based role at Carlisle or Workington (to be negotiated with the successful candidate). Homeworking is permitted on an ad-hoc basis in line with business needs.
