One of FBR's long standing build/modular clients are in need of a commercially aware Commercial Manager to provide commercial support to the Project Managers & Surveyors.
Key Responsibilities;
Responsibility for margin confidence, commercial risk and cash flow of a series of projects across the business with an overall value between £500,000 to £100 million.
Manage Commercial contracts with the business & clients at and beyond Tender stage.
Understand the requirements of the customers in specific sectors, where applicable, and ensure that projects are managed commercially to satisfy those requirements.
Work together with sales and estimating to develop accurate bids.
Responsible for the commercial assurance of the projects under management.
Working with project surveyors to ensure that subcontracts are placed.
Providing commercial assurance of project margin performance through accurate forecasting and identification of issues giving rise to commercial risk.
Management of commercial performance, cash flow, margin management (commercial value creation) and commercial risk on allocated projects.
Support the project delivery team in the management of the contract (including managing warranties), creating commercial value.
Identify any potential disputes and provide appropriate reports.
Key skill sets;
Within the business to achieve and exceed profitability targets.
Extensive experience of managing commercial contracts (JCT & NEC) with clients is essential. Demonstrable experience in the construction industry is also essential.
The individual will have appropriate qualifications, and professional membership of the RICS, CIOB or ICE is desirable. The individual will hold a valid CSCS card.
Ability to operate successfully in a commercial environment and previous experience of managing project commercial performance is essential.
Commercial awareness is required to assess margin, risk and cash flow.
