Job summary
Stapenhill Medical Centre are recruiting a Reception/Administrative Assistant. This permanent position is for 30 hours per week.
A Reception/Administrative Assistant will support both the reception and administrative teams with various tasks supporting both teams.
Main duties of the job
1. Sorting all clinical post and prioritising for the GP in terms of actions.
2. Extracting all information from some clinical letters that needs coding and adding to patient notes.
3. Arranging appointments, referrals, tests and follow up appointments for patients.
4. Monitoring the surgery incoming emails and taking the required action.
5. Comminucating with patients either face to face, over the telephone, by letter or by email.
6. Undertake some secretarial tasks such as urgent referrals to other healthcare providers and summary requests.
7. Retrieve and file papers notes when required.
8. Ensuring new patients are registered correctly and promptly onto our clinical system.
9. Action repeat prescription requests received either by email, paper or via online services.
10. To be responsible for the loan of blood pressure machines to patients and ensuring that they are returned to us as per protocol.
11. Any other duties as required by management/GP Partners.

We currently have three full-time Partners, assisted by three employed GP's, two Pharmacists, one Advanced Nurse Practitioner, two Practice Nurses and one Healthcare Assistant.
With a patient list currently in excess of 9,500 and growing, and with the development of new services, we are seeking to recruit to address our current and future needs.
We are a friendly well established Practice with high QOF scores and a Good CQC rating.
The successful applicant will work within our team to deliver an excellent service to our patients. Good communication and organisational skills are essential. Candidates must be flexible, reliable, have the ability to multi-task and work efficiently within a busy and pressurised environment. Previous experience would be highly advantageous, however, full training will be provided. The Practice uses SystmOne Clinical System.
