Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is looking for a CTF Operating Plant Manager to be based at Rocksavage, Runcorn. Main Purpose To manage and develop plant operations, operating teams and resources to deliver SHE, quality, production, cost and people development targets in line with the company’s SHE and business targets. This CTF operating manager role is responsible for managing the CTF plant, the Site Operating Shift Managers and RSV site infrastructure. The OPM must also support the other Operating Plant managers and their production facilities to aid the wider business. Working Monday to Friday predominantly 8am-4pm with flexibility required to support out of hours. Main Responsibilities Prepare, communicate and control local production schedules on a short- and medium-term basis to ensure plants operate effectively, meet business and maintenance requirements, and keep control of fixed and variable costs. Support other OPM critical activities and their plant operations. Monitor the safety, health and environmental performance of the CTF plant and site, investigate incidents and drive safety improvements to ensure production operations conform to current and future legislation. Manage the team’s competence, performance, attendance and behaviors to ensure they meet company standards. Work with the site production manager in the development and implementation of personal improvement plans for the medical process teams & develop their skills, knowledge & competencies in line with agreed targets set at the personal review time. Assist in the development & implementation of improvement plans to reduce plant fixed & variable costs and to optimize performance in line with the business needs. Work through the OSM team to strengthen their support across functions and plants and to deliver the site strategy. Maintain KPI’s and other analytical methods to continuously monitor and improve operating performance and submit/present reports as per business requirements. Support other key stakeholders with the process planning of shutdowns and maintenance activities to ensure that the necessary resources are obtained, and the plan is developed and executed within agreed timescales. Maintain and support the quality management system by reviewing and developing documentation covering all plant operations under site SHEQ requirements. Qualifications Minimum: HNC/D or NVQ Level 5. Leadership & Management qualification e.g. ILM Level 4, Team Leader, Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard (including CMI L3 Diploma in Management) or similar management qualification would be advantageous. NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications would be desirable. Lean/6σ and Continuous Improvement would be desirable. Knowledge/ Experience Required Minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience in continuous chemical process operations ideally at a supervisory level incorporating: Experience of working and ideally supervision of unionized workforce on continuous shift patterns preferably on a Top Tier COMAH site. Experience of controlling and monitoring processes and unit operations using control systems e.g. DCS, PLC (ideally those operated on the site and associated with Major Accident Hazard and/or Major Accident to the Environment risks). Experience of using and applying safe systems of work (ideally those operated on the site). Experience in handling, storage and transportation of chemicals including utilities (ideally those stored, handled, used and produced on site). Experience in using IT systems (ideally those used on site and in role e.g. SAP, Microsoft Office, PIMS, Delta V etc.). Knowledge of standard SHE principles, risk assessment and safe systems of work (ideally those operated on the site). Knowledge of shift work patterns and associated issues requiring management of shift teams. Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance in terms of work planning and safe implementation. Knowledge of incident investigation and emergency response procedures.
