Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200-acre secure site has half a million square feet of stage space, production offices and workshops together with an exterior filming tank, one of the largest indoor heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100-acre back-lot. WBSL has some of the largest sound stages in the UK and is proving to be a very popular facility for production clients.
WB Leavesden Park, adjacent to the Studio, offers modern and flexible office space for Production Companies. The site also has its own, on-site Set Lighting & Rigging rental division, which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots. WB De Lane Lea based in Soho, London, provides state-of-the-art facilities in audio post-production for feature films and television.
WBSL also has an onsite childcare facility available to WB employees, onsite productions called The WonderWorks and Zone10 - an onsite gym facility to support the physical and mental wellbeing of all our employees.
These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post-production facility in the UK.
Your New Role...
You will be responsible for making sure the studios are maintained to a high standard, ensuring safe working practices. The role will primarily be based at the Leavesden site but from time to time you may be required to work off site.
As a Maintenance Assistant, the day-to-day job is varied, ranging from reactive jobs to specific skilled tasks such as painting & decorating office spaces, a variety of multi-tasks in sound stages, installs and decommission of installations, working with the team to react to emergencies such as burst pipes, diesel spills and during the winter months gritting paths among many others. Due to the nature of the position, one of the primary roles is to always monitor the aesthetics of the site and actively participate to keep the site free of litter, clean, tidy, and maintain a high standard of appearance reporting and discussing actions required. This role interfaces with all other disciplines within the department therefore you will be working alongside plumbing, electrical and carpentry colleagues.
You will be required to work a 40-hour week on a rota shift pattern. You will also be required to work evenings and weekends in line with the operating hours of the studio and the studio tour; this includes working some bank holidays. There will be a requirement to respond to emergencies in and out of normal working hours.
Your Role Accountabilities...
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager, Lead Facilities Technician and issued by Facilities Administrator.
* Monitor H&S compliance, such as correct PPE being worn, as per the H&S at Work Act and WBSL H&S Policy.
* Ensure that the site's equipment is looked after in such a way as to maintain continuous operation and legal compliance with local and national regulations.
* Audit and review of all stock levels, reporting up to request/or place required orders, ensuring constant robust stock levels.
* Attend weekly team meetings and deliver Tool Box talks.
* Assist with receiving deliveries and stock management.
* Ensure critical spares and operational spare parts are always kept in stock, this includes tools assigned to you.
Qualifications & Experiences...
* Strong understanding of COSHH.
* Multi-skilled experience in areas such as carpentry, decorating, competency using hand tools and general maintenance.
* Well organized and adapt to change on a day-to-day basis with good problem-solving skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
* Prepared to participate in other non-business/team related projects.
* CSCS Card.
* IPAF/Forklift certification.
* Previous maintenance experience desirable.
* Qualifications in one or more trade in construction is desirable.
* Full UK driving license.
