Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) – Barnet
A fantastic SEND school in Barnet is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs and disabilities. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with additional learning and behavioral needs.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will provide support to students in a nurturing, inclusive environment, helping them overcome challenges in their learning journey. Experience working in a school setting is preferred, but we also welcome candidates with backgrounds in youth work, sports coaching, care, or voluntary work with young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with SEND, helping them to achieve their academic potential and develop key life skills
Create a positive, calm, and safe learning environment, addressing each student's individual needs
Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to implement tailored learning strategies
Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages students’ emotional and personal development
Provide encouragement and motivation to help students engage with their learning and grow in confidence
Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals involved in the students' development
The Successful Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs and disabilities
Be patient, compassionate, and empathetic with the ability to build trust and rapport with students
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate a creative, adaptable approach to supporting students with SEND
Be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs
Be willing to collaborate with other staff and professionals to support the needs of the students

Requirements:
Experience working with children or young adults with SEND
