We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SLD/PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our team at an SEND school specialising in PMLD and SLD in the north east area of Doncaster. Our school is part of a large MAT, providing excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.
As an SLD/PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide individualised support to our students with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of tailored learning programmes, supporting students with personal care and hygiene needs, and providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all learners.
This is initially a minimum 12-week role with Protocol Education, with the possibility of going temp-to-perm for the right person. We welcome applications from both full-time and part-time candidates and will work with you to ensure a flexible working schedule that suits your needs.
Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SLD and PMLD, both in and out of the classroom setting.
2. Assist with the delivery of tailored learning programmes, including sensory and communication activities.
3. Support students with personal care and hygiene needs, including toileting and feeding.
4. Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all students, promoting positive relationships and behaviour.
5. Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our learners.
