Position: Behaviour Mentor - Full-time, Temporary/Permanent
Location: Ellesmere Port
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and motivated Behaviour Mentor to join a large secondary school in Ellesmere Port. This role is set to start in January 2025 and will initially be on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be responsible for supporting students on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping them to manage their behaviour and engage with their learning. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to create tailored support plans that promote positive behaviour and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for students with challenging behaviour
Implement behaviour intervention strategies to help students manage emotions and improve engagement
Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to ensure students are supported in all areas of school life
Foster a positive and inclusive environment to encourage personal growth and academic success
Monitor and report on students' progress, adapting strategies as needed
Key Requirements:
Previous experience working with children in any setting (education, youth work, residential care, etc.) is essential
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies
Ability to build rapport and trust with students from diverse backgrounds
Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
