We are seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to start work as soon as possible in the Hawkesbury-area.
Shifts would be early morning, afternoon, evening, overnight with consistent hours and a set schedule until further notice.
Responsibilities
* Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RN.
* Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
* Ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
* Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
* Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the residents.
* Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensuring protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
* Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
* Basic computer proficiency.
* Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
* Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
* Effective, compassionate, and supportive interpersonal skills.
* Respect for each resident as an individual, aware of their need for self-respect and privacy, and the right to participate in decisions about their care.
* Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes that influence the operation of the Nursing Home.
* Medical clearance (including but not limited to TB tests).
* Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
* Clear Criminal Record Check. All staff are required to provide proof of vaccination, adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wear a mask at all times.
