This multi-academy trust has around 10 schools as part of their organisation and due to individual school needs, as well as ongoing trust IT projects, the Head of IT has approached Hays keen to appoint an IT Technician/IT Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The Trust has a mix of both primary and secondary schools and therefore there are varying needs in each school from an IT perspective, however you will be an integral part of this well-established team. Predominantly based in the Blackpool area, but with some schools in Lancashire, the role will be based mainly in the Blackpool & Fylde area. The trust has experienced significant growth in recent years, due to its ongoing success and high performance, and it is therefore important that the right individuals are appointed to further facilitate this growth and success.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of IT, you will be responsible for providing a high level of IT support to both pupils and staff in both the school and across the wider trust, ensuring the highest level of support is available. You will work closely with other members of the IT team and therefore, will receive further training and support. On a daily basis, duties will include supporting with both hardware and software installs and updates, responding to any hardware build requests, responding to requestsing through on an internal ticketing system and resolving these efficiently. In addition, you will work closely with Network Managers and senior IT staff around the delivery of any IT projects which often involves the upgrading of current infrastructure and introduction of new systems and technologies.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will have proven experience providing IT support in a reactive hands-on environment where you have provided face to face support with both hardware and software, with experience working in the education sector being beneficial. The passion for working in IT, as well as an interest in further developing your skills and knowledge is also essential.
