We are looking to appoint a Planned Programmes Supervisor to join our Planned Maintenance service, to work within the team to help deliver multiple installation contracts covering bathrooms, gas, electric heating and gas servicing. You will be working alongside an experienced team within the Mechanical, Electrical and Heating Team.
You will take responsibility for the line management of a team of surveyors and gas auditing engineer on multiple streams of work for capital and revenue investment projects on behalf of Bristol City Council.
You will take responsibility on compliance with particular interest in Bristol City Council Gas Safe Register To achieve this, they will need experience and/or qualifications in the domestic gas industry and it is recommended that they have gained experience of electrical installations.
You will need to drive forward delivery of programmes of work and ensure they achieve ambitious standards for our residents and also ensure health and safety is maintained to Bristol City Councils highest standards.
You will need strong line management skills and the ability to build good work relationships with BCC’s contractors.
What will I be doing?
Experience in installation and maintenance particularly within social housing is essential to the post. Supervision is essential, as the post holder will need to work with multiple contractors to help manage day to day activities. The applicant will assist in the delivery of contracts to ensure consistent high standards and best value for money is achieved for BCC and its residents. The post holder will need experience in writing specifications, contract documents and necessary reports.
You will be key in bringing together multiple internal teams to deliver Bristol City Councils Gas Servicing programme of works.
You will need to take responsibility of multiple projects to ensure that all relevant Health and Safety, CDM regs responsibilities are adhered to by in house and external contractors reporting issues to the line manager. You will also need to ensure your own team is also complaint with CDM and ensure they are aware of their responsibilities.
We will need a candidate who is fully aware and willing to adapt to industry changes with particular interest in Gas safety and electrical regulations.
What do I need to have?
We need someone who holds a relevant recognised Gas and/or Electrical engineering qualification equivalent to Degree or HNC or NVQ Level 3 standard and extensive practical relevant experience.You should have the drive to take the initiative to introduce innovations to keep continually improving the service we offer to our residents and have a keen interest in helping BCC achieve its carbon neutral target.
