Morrison EnergyServices (Transmission Networks) Ltd isrecruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to work onour Various contracts inthe UK.
The ManagingQuantity Surveyor role does involve travel to sites across the UKand occasional over night stays whennecessary.
As the Managing QuantitySurveyor you will be part of ourCommercial team who areresponsible for managing all commercial aspects of a project in termsof liaising with the client, internal andexternal reporting and managing thirdparty interactions.
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor your responsibilitieswill include:
1. Compile relevant information forpreparation of reports and claims to agreedtimescales.
2. Assist with the ongoing implementation ofthe commercial application in respect of site personnel at all timewhilst developing lasting relationships with Business Unit andProject Managers.
3. Constantly refer to the project riskmanagement plan for thorough, accurate, high-level risk assessment.Monitor the register and any related documentation in accordancewith the plan.
4. Ultimate responsibility for allsub-contractor management. Ensure all sub-contractors andsuppliers have submitted compliantquotations/inquiries/applications within the timescale required,and produce all documentation to select and secure services as wellas monthly assessments, variations/CE claims and final accountagreements through coaching of the QuantitySurveyor
5. Actively increase knowledge of commercialissues and contract law with a view to managing and agreeingcompensation events/variations/claims.
6. Actively suggest anddevelop processes for increased accuracy and efficiency minimisingtime journal and reconciliation tasks.
7. Liaison with the Commercial Manager andQuantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercial cover ismaintained.
8. Assist the team and Project Manager,Engineers and Planners with regard to recovery of contract coststogether with enhancing project profit by identifying variations,delays and claims.
9. Assist with production of monthly projectfinancial and forecast to complete reports for analysis withFinance staff and Commercial Staff.
Develop sound andbalanced negotiating skills. Attend when requestedhandover and progress meetings. Help produce a sitecommercial manual and documents to recordvariations.
10. Undertake monthly reporting for bothclient and internal ensuring comprehensive variance analysis andpositive cash collection
