About the role
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic subject specialist and required to focus on modern manufacturing processes using appropriate CAD/CAM programs. You will encourage problem solving, decision making and independence skills and promote practical, investigative & creative abilities as you teach lessons across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.
The main purpose of the role is to impact positively on student achievement and attainment through planning and delivering high quality lessons.
Main duties of this Teacher of Technology & Computing role include:
1. Planning and preparing courses and lessons
2. Teaching, according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the pupils in the school and elsewhere
3. Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
4. Communicating and consulting with the parents of pupils;
5. Maintaining good order and discipline among the pupils and safeguarding their health and safety

Requirements
Experience and qualifications required for this Teacher of Technology & Computing position:
6. PGCE (or equivalent) with QTS/QTLS is essential
7. Outstanding subject knowledge, keeping abreast of latest developments in Engineering, Design, Technology, Computer Science and Coding/Programming
8. Demonstrable success in the teaching of coding, e.g. Raspberry Pi
9. The vision and ability to promote these subjects to pupils and parents alike
10. A proven track record of success that would add to the schools’ academic culture
11. Excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to work as a part of a collaborative team
12. Be equally at home teaching those who find the subject hard and those who work at a level above their age group
